Postcards from the Open Road: I am in Love

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner for a recovering heart

NOTE: This has been reposted with comments off.

I dearly love this landscape, these stunning silent sentinels who line the trails. We returned to hiking for the first time since Monday morning now that Clarence is back and feeling healthy again.

We’ve missed our free-roaming morning miles, and the reunion with them brought moments of ecstasy today.

The photos don’t do the dawn light justice. Nevertheless, I will stop with my words and hope the images and video capture at least a tinge of the wondrous marriage of shadow and glow.

Thank you for reading. This post is public so feel free to share it.

You air that serves me with breath to speak!
You objects that call from diffusion my meanings and give them shape!
You light that wraps me and all things in delicate equable showers!
You paths worn in the irregular hollows by the roadsides!
I believe you are latent with unseen existences, you are so dear to me.
~ Walt Whitman

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

When not eating oatmeal, these Plantsrong Multigrain Flakes are a favorite. I had them with mixed berries, ground flax & chia seeds, cacao powder, and a kiss of pure maple syrup.
I can’t get enough of the Whole Foods Market salad bar. Tons of fresh veggies piled atop layers of mixed greens. Salad dressing is no-oil hummus mixed with one of my favorite California Balsamic flavors.
Thank you to Thomas at California Balsamic for the resupply shipped to our Tucson casita.
Whether it is dessert or dinner, I enjoy roasting and caramelizing sweet potatoes and serving them hot with chia seeds, ground cinnamon, raw rolled oats, fresh blackberries & pure maple syrup.
