I had the best dreams last night, thanks partly to the heavy rhythmic drumming of rain on the metal roof above our bedroom. How I wish I could share this weekend's damp weather with those of you out West suffering through drought and wildfires.
The most curious statistic I read today has to do with yesterday's record, where high temperatures for July 3 were the lowest on record. In many of the cities and towns where this occurred, Christmas Day 2020 was warmer.
Curious times, indeed.
We often walk along the ski trails just across the Ellis River from our backyard on Sunday mornings. Today, the river was deeper than it's been since our return home, and the current created an exciting crossing for us. Lately, we been wading it with such ease, I grown worried for the Ellis River, but this morning it was up to mid-thigh, and Samwise and Emily had to swim.
