The Buddha Sit

In last month’s “What Are You Reading?” post, Ken asked, “Interested in knowing if you think Sam, Em, and Atti’s Buddha pose is a function of their breed? Or maybe you trained them to do it.”

Atticus always sat this way and on his own accord. He did this on our hikes to take in the view from a mountain ledge or summit or when observing moose, bear, and even coyotes.

I do very little training with the dogs who share my life, other than to remind them to be gentle with other animals. I prefer them to be who they wish to be.
