Izzy, the sprawling snowstorm tracking across the country and up into the Northeast, pushed us north from our desired route. We spent last night in Dayton, Ohio, where what little snow we received did not start until we were safely in our hotel. It’s already stopped, and we should have no trouble getting back on course.
On Saturday, we traveled from Cape Cod to Hagerstown, Maryland, in time to watch my dear Patriots get embarrassed by the Buffalo Bills. At least the Home2 Suites, our chosen chain hotel for pandemic travel, offered us a good night’s sleep. These places are superb, and they welcome Samwise and Emily. (I’m writing to you from the Dayton Home2 Suites, where we are extremely comfortable.)
