Six times a year, Emily finds herself in an untenable situation. If it were up to her, the three of us would always be together. Mostly we are, save for when she and Samwise stay in the car while I run into a store—and grooming appointments.
This morning she and Samwise were dropped off with our friend Tracy at her Ultimutt Cut pet salon. The divine Ms. Em is no fan of being abandoned, even if it means getting all prettified.
Don’t get me wrong, she loves the pampering that comes with the luxurious bath, and the attention to detail as she is brushed, snipped, and trimmed. What bothers her is me leaving her behind.
At least Samwise is by her side the entire four hours. If he had his way, though, he would not be left there either. However, he’s much more chill with the entire process and he does not wear his emotions as clearly as Emily.
