
We picked up our last bunch of beets and said goodbye to Joan at the Mountain View Farm Stand today. They’re closing up until June; another sign the seasons are changing.
Between Joan at MVF and Betsy at the farm stand on West Side Road, we’ve enjoyed our trips into North Conway for fresh produce these last five months. These stops to pick up veggies define summer as much as sunscreen, shorts, sandals, and bug spray. Truth is, around these parts, quality produce are harder to come by in the darker months.
On this morning’s walk, we enjoyed rain showers, which made the last of the colorful leaves shiny and fresh. Most maples and elms are naked now, but the electric lemon/lime of the beech leaves have another week to go. They breathe new life into our fall foliage.
