Postcards from the Road: The Southern Oregon Coast

We drove west from the redwood trees of Humboldt State Park on Saturday until we reached the teeming waters off of Cape Mendocino. It was a new route for us, passing through magnificent forests before reaching tilted green meadows on steep hills leading down to the sea. Then it was north through Eureka, Arcata, and Crescent City, with a brief stop at Redwoods National Park. Finally, we were on to Oregon.
