Leaving Rachael, Bryant, and Sylvia left me a little heartsick, and I felt the pangs of saying goodbye to my friends for the second time in six months to be taxing. The long ride to Isle of Palms, South Carolina, was meditative. We all slept heavily that first night in our hotel room.
