Our Plans Revealed
It’s good to see blue skies this morning. We had them for a few hours Sunday morning, but it had been close to a week since we’d been out of the clouds. It even snowed here in Bend before yesterday’s afternoon walk along the river. I’ve gone back to wearing fleece pants and a hoodie along with gloves. Currently, it’s in the mid-thirties and feeling very much like life in the White Mountains.
When we left Olympia after one night, we drove south through a steady rain for three hours, stopping to walk a trail in Mount Hood National Forest. My god, it was the most surreal scene we’ve encountered on this trip—a rainforest of fantastic and magnificent shades of lustful green! I realized that no matter how accurate my photos were, no one would believe they’ve not been photoshopped.
