aaah, I've found some inspiration here for a painting or two. I love how Samwise plays "smart". Every time I cross the Rhode Island border from CT and then on to the cape I am struck by the changing landscape - the trees and bushes/thickets of the land begin to have a hunkered down closer to the earth stance, crouched for the inevitable winds coming from the sea while the Inland woods reach high up for the sun. Thank you for taking us along -
When Emily first arrived in our lives, Samwise could out race her. That did not last long. So he positions himself in the middle of the trail and tries to block her. When she gets beyond him, while he used to chase, he knew she was always coming back, so he stays and waits. They both love the collision.
It's something we see so rarely here and I find the idea of walking in such conditions so thrilling. I am green with envy.
And more, to see the snow right to the water! I absolutely love such a different outlook on the sea. Thank you so much - cold and all! Loved every moment!
Ah, the T.S. Eliot is the one I selected this morning to begin 2026 with! What an invigorating hike, and I love seeing the sheer joy Samwise and Emily have while playing along the snowy trail. May this new beginning be all you hope it to be.
I love this! Seeing Samwise and Emily running full tilt is joyful. The storm came through Ohio on Tuesday and literally blew me sideways coming out of the grocery store. I couldn’t help but laugh. The beach and surf in the video is glorious.
Watching Samwise and Emily playing in the falling snow was an absolute delight. And the music fit this video perfectly! I wondered where Samwise and Emily were in the blizzard you walked into on the beach? Nothing like a winter hike to celebrate the new year with new beginnings.
Love the video! I,too, think snowstorms are magical! We had one last night as well and I had to do a late night walk to take it in. It’s great that Sam and Emily love the snow as much as you do! Enjoy!
I'm excited to get to know your new vistas as you take us along on your walks/hikes. I feel like I got to know the White Mountains through you, and now to experience Cape Cod I'm really looking forward to it! It will be a little bit of an adjustment as I was so used to your winter/early spring adventures, but looking forward to what summer travels will bring for you Sam and Emily!
