From yesterday’s walk with the balloons.

We have less than ten days remaining in Kanab, and I’m already anticipating how much I’ll miss the place. We’ve stayed local this trip, forgoing trips to Zion and Bryce Canyon, simply because there’s more to do here for Samwise and Emily.

National Parks are astounding places, but they are not suited to free-roaming dogs. Our trips have never been about seeking out noted photo backdrops but experiences. We wouldn’t have enjoyed the balloon festival yesterday had we not married it with our morning miles.

Staying close to Kanab means taking advantage of the local trails instead of driving to a National Park merely to say we went. This way, all three of us can enjoy the experience equally.
