We’re in the midst of a raw, rainy spell. Emily suggests we all gather on the bed after getting toweled off after our walks. So I write to you with Emily’s chin on my shoulder while Samwise rests his head on my hip. The rest of his body is pressed against the length of my leg.

I recently followed Amor Towles’ follow-up to A Gentleman in Moscow, The Lincoln Highway. It was captivating, the best book I have read this year! It was so good, I then listened to the audio version as well.
Halloween is my favorite holiday, even if it is not the stuff of our youthful days. Still, bewitching nostalgia beckons as October grows old, no matter my age.
