Gold Beach, Oregon, treated us well. From our bluff-top rental, we had a glorious view of the ocean. Below, was a beach stretching a mile and a half to the south and, I’m guessing, ten miles to the north. After four vigorous hill-climbing days in Monterey and the Bay Area, we appreciated lengthening our strides and resting our hips on flat earth.
