Summer Stalk

You’ve not heard from us as much these past few weeks because we’ve been dealing with a stalker problem.

It began in the summer when a couple came north from one of the Mid-Atlantic states to “be around” us. They found some of our favorite walking routes, thanks to a mistake on my part where I was recording the outings without knowing that a select few could see them. This lasted for about three months and was more than a little disconcerting.

Yes, they actually came to New Hampshire and rented a house for three months in hopes of becoming besties with us. We encountered them almost daily in places we’d never seen anyone. It became our summer nightmare.

Alas, the seventy-year-old couple was not technically breaking any law, so there was little I could do about it. Recently, they returned. When it came to a head, and they crossed a line, I reached out to a friend in the New Hampshire State Police to handle the situation.
