Good morning.
Long before I left Facebook, I grew tired of it. Yes, it has helped many of us keep in touch with some folks we may not have otherwise, I get that. But then again, there’s a reason why we lose touch with folks in the first place.
Since getting rid of my personal page, I’ve stayed in touch with those I was FB friends with. We live in an age where it is easier than ever to stay in contact with those we care about.
One of my main beefs with Facebook has been that it’s not left us better than it found us. If anything, it’s cheapened our thoughts and the way we interact.
At the end of our last trip in July if 2019, I wrote a post on the Following Atticus page. Like many posts over the past few years, I ended up deleting it. The comments did it in. Sometimes as a writer—heck, as a person—you just want to express yourself and not have folks dissecting your thoughts in real time.
